The Second Amendment is there to protect all the rest. An armed populace can't be repressed by an overreaching government.

Kudos to D², the 2nd Amendment isn't about duck hunting. All of the BOR are natural, inalienable rights, which exist whether the government recognizes them or not (note that I did not say the BOR 'gives' or 'allows' us any rights - it RECOGNIZES these rights, fundamental to free people.

Bonus question: If the gov't 'repealed' the BOR, which of those rights would you still have?

Answer: All of them! Rembember, they are INALIENABLE, endowed by our Creator, not by government. However, if the population allows the abridgement, atrophy, or erosion of the 2nd Amendment, to the point where it is no longer armed, the exercise of the other, natural rights, becomes exponentially more difficult.

Ironically, groups such as the NRA and GOA, typically portrayed in national media outlets as "fringe groups", do the most to protect EVERYONE'S rights, even hoplophobes (anti-gun types), by securing and exercising the provisions of the 2nd Amendment.

So, Todd, relax next time you go to the ice cream parlor, you've got at least two 'Dons' on your side!
