Sassypants Dori-Belle
This is my sweet biscuit Dori. She's not big enough to jump into the bed of a truck but if you don't think she's a real dog then you and 4 of your toughest friends meet me outside right now!
Rourke was on Leno last night - said his Chihuahua was 17 yrs old! He also credited, as per your post, that his canines helped him keep or regain sanity.

My dog sometimes works in a similar role.
So, I'll ease up on the 'little dog' bit...

By the way, even if Dori-Belle can't jump in the bed of a pickup, I'll bet Sara can!
